Forum Title: Craftsman style door caps
Hi, I want to find a simple method to make door and window caps. I have heard that you can take the trim board, make it approx 2 longer than necessary; cut each end off at a 45 degree angle, and then swap the small ends to fit under the 45 degree cut of the trim piec to make a smooth cornered end . But, I would like some diagrams or measurements so I don't have to make it up as I go along. Anyone heard of this technique? Thanks for your help

Bypass(sliding) door openings are usually about an inch smaller the bifold door openings, to allow door overlap. Thus, it is usually harder to fit bifold doors into a bypass opening without major trimming on the doors. Byfolds should easily fit the 72 & 48 opening, but may need trimming for the 71 opening. You could also install the doors on hinges.
